French The French department offers every girl in Year 7 or 8 the opportunity to take part in a school trip to a French-speaking country, usually at the end of the Summer Term. A very popular choice is the Language and Activity Holiday held at the Château de la Beaudonnière in Normandy. As they grow in confidence and progress in their study of French, girls are encouraged to join in the Exchange with our partner school, the Ecole St Joseph, in Lectoure in the south of France. Sixth Formers are encouraged to develop their language skills by spending part of their Summer break in France, living and working abroad for a short time in work placements.
