The Old Girls' Guild
The CNHS Old Girls' Guild was established in 1929 to encourage former pupils and teachers to keep in contact with each other and school. Members range from 16 to 98 years old, in locations from Jesmond to Rangoon.
Membership is by Life Subscription (£25) which finances the annual newsletter sent worldwide every August by post and Email. A database is kept of addresses and Emails to help Old Girls contact their friends for reunions etc. The committee and helpers are from a wide age range, and all have encyclopaedic memories for all matters CNHS so sometimes the database is not even required!
Functions are arranged at school and beyond, within which girls can arrange reunions for their year group. School welcomes Old Girls to many functions and the OGG recommends Old Girls to take a look at the school website to see what is going on. Old Girls have a wealth of experience in a vast array of careers and many have agreed to come back to school to talk about their career path to current pupils.
These talks have been very well received and school would love to hear from Old Girls who feel they could do this. School is also keen to speak to Old Girls if they think they might be able to help with student work experience placements. The Old Girls' Guild also supports school financially via the Annual Fund and individual gifts. To contact the Old Girls' Guild please complete the webform below. We look forward to hearing from you! |
