A lifelong love of learning, curiosity, independence and enthusiasm are qualities that typify Central Newcastle High School girls.  These are strengths that our girls can draw on throughout their lives and are at the centre of the education provided within our Senior Department.

Our long history of academic excellence has been, and continues to be achieved by focusing on each girl’s individual talents and giving her the opportunity to grow and develop at her own pace.  In four of the past six years we achieved the Sunday Times 'Parent Power' postion of Top School in the North of England.

Our curriculum provides a broad and balanced education and is reviewed regularly to meet the changing demands of the modern world.  During the first three years girls study a wide range of subjects.  This provides them with an excellent educational foundation. A discrete ICT course is also in place for all girls within the Senior Department and there is a co-ordinated programme of Personal, Social and Health Education.
