Greek GCSE Greek is a rapid course. We use a new textbook, 'Greek for GCSE' by John Taylor which provides clear exposition of grammar, exercises to consolidate knowledge and stories derived from Greek literature to foster reading and introduce Greek culture. In the second year of the course students will read real Greek in both prose and verse set texts. AS and A2 (OCR). Two Greek authors are studied in Year 12 for the literature papers and language work follows a similar pattern to GCSE, being examined by unseen translation. In Year 13 the language work is examined by unseen translation and comprehension (or prose composition), and we can study either one or two shorter works of literature. |
