Entry to the School
If you decide that Central Newcastle High School is the right choice for your daughter you will need to complete an application form. If your daughter is of Junior Department age she will then be invited to school for an assessment and an interview. Please be assured that great care is taken to ensure that your daughter finds this an enjoyable activity.

Girls joining Year 7 will be asked to sit an Entrance Examination and attend an informal interview in the Spring Term prior to entrance in the Autumn Term. The same general format is followed for entry to Years 8 and 9 with testing occurring half-termly.

Entrance to the Sixth Form is gained on the basis of GCSE results and an interview.

Transfer Arrangements
Transfer from Year 6 to Year 7 (Senior Department) is generally automatic. In the rare case where there are reasons why a pupil in the Junior Department would not be well advised to transfer, this would be discussed with the parents at a much earlier stage. Transfers from other GDST schools may be arranged subject to availability and the agreement of the Headmistress.

For more information e-mail the school.
