Top School Attracts German Students to Join Sixth Form

Five teenage girls from Stuttgart have abandoned their Sixth Form studies in Germany to test out the English education system for a month.

Nursery Judged as OUTSTANDING!

Staff at Central Newcastle High School are celebrating after a recent Ofsted Inspection judged the provision of care and education in the Nursery as outstanding in all categories.

Best GCSE results in the Region

With 77% of all entries at GCSE being awarded A*/A and five girls achieving A*s in every subject taken, Central Newcastle High School GDST is delighted with this year's results.

Buildings and Facilities

Junior Department
The facilities at West Avenue are excellent. The classrooms are spacious, bright and airy and all have ICT provision. There is an excellent library, fully equipped gymnasium and a specialist room for Music, all of which enable the girls to enjoy a wide range of activities. Outdoors there are two playgrounds which are well used at break times!

We are currently undergoing a £2.3 million redevelopment of the school, scheduled to be completed in October 2006. Please click here for more information.

Chapman House is a beautiful building set in five acres of grounds in the conservation corridor of Jesmond Dene. It provides a calm and tranquil learning environment with fine specialist facilities for Science, Art and Design, ICT and Music. An adventure trail is a much used addition to the outdoor play areas.

Senior Department
Our excellent facilities at Eskdale Terrace, Jesmond support and enhance greatly the activities undertaken by the girls. They include three ICT suites, seven Science laboratories, a well resourced Library, a modern Gymnasium and Sports Hall, a light and spacious Art Department and an excellent Music School. Our newly completed Drama Studio and Drama Teaching rooms are welcome and well used additions to the school.
