Advanced Clustering Technology

MXtreme was designed with scalability and growth in mind. It can support thousands of concurrent connections and can process over 100,000 messages per hour. For added throughput and redundancy, corporations can cluster multiple MXtreme Mail Firewalls. Clusters are managed centrally, ensuring that any changes made to the cluster master are automatically sent to all systems in the cluster.

High-Availability

In addition to providing redundant hardware configurations, MXtreme is the only mail firewall to offer patent-pending "Stateful Failover" with advanced queue replication. When two or more MXtremes are configured to run as a highavailability cluster, all data sent through the primary system is replicated across a secondary system. The delivery queues are also replicated across the cluster. In the event of a hard failure on the primary system, queued messages are safe on the secondary system and may be retrieved and transmitted. With this unique ability, MXtreme is the only mail firewall to offer zero downtime, zero latency and zero message loss.

SNMP Management

MXtreme integrates directly with network management frameworks like HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, BMC Patrol and CA UniCenter to provide complete control and visibility into your missioncritical email infrastructure. In the event of a problem, the network management frame-work is notified using advanced SNMP trapping and export of system logs. With these tools - and from a single console - MXtreme can manage your global email infrastructure.

Load Balanced Clusters

MXtreme clusters can be load-balanced using DNS round robin, or using intelligent load balancer devices such as F5 Networks, Big-IP.

MXtreme is the only mail firewall to work directly with F5 Networks. With F5 Networks Big-IP, administrators can write complex policies that enable email throttling, support priority messages, or perform content delivery based on predefined zone policies.
