Fraud, never mind the perimeter, look within.

James Murray's article in this week's edition of IT Week: Stop staff fraudsters and save billions brings together some pertinent research on growth of Fraud in our society. Whether you believe Mishcon de Reya's estimates of the cost of UK fraud at £72bn or some lesser figure there is only one conclusion, big time fraud is real and it's getting bigger.
At last year's North East Fraud Forum conference I asked the head of IT security of one of the world's largest banks, what keeps you awake at night?. His reply was not a technical one, he simply said 'People targeting my staff'.
It seems like recent events such as the on-line fraud at the Revenue and Customs Office shows he is fully justified in that opinion.
