These so called blended threats involve multiple attack vectors making them much more difficult to protect against. Companies using Windows DNS servers are more vulnerable than others based on BIND. However even using BIND a multi-layered defence strategy should be adopted to ensure that systems are not vulnerable to attack and BIND should always be kept up to date!
