Case Study : Softlab ecommnet's experience in developing web based applications ranges widely from catalogue based Business to Consumer sites such as Ann Summers to strictly Business to Business sites like Isola.
Our latest project, for a company called Softlab, BMW's software development and consultancy arm, was a joint project with 3BWeb. The project combined 3BWeb's design skills with our technology development producing a classically simple site with a number of innovatve features. Of particular note was the introduction of a set of novel content management tools that enable Softlab's marketing staff to maintain the site without constant reference to the web team.
The importance of these tools cannot be underestimated, many companies experience considerable difficulty in keeping their web site content fresh and relevant. Stale, out of date content is guaranteed to loose business and detract from the corporate image. ecommnet is using a variety solutions to address this issue, including the Atomz! Publish service, and some site specific tools as shown above. All these are based very heavily on XML technology.
